The Mission is Clear

Jesus left us a clear mission: “Go into all the world and share the gospel.” Today, that “all the world” also includes social media, emails, live broadcasts, and websites. At Jesus My Good Shepherd Church, we want to join in that mission, from where many people spend their time.

Social media is the new neighborhood. There people converse, share, seek answers... and can also find Jesus. It's not about being online for fashion, but for purpose. Technology is no rival to faith—on the contrary, when used well, it can open paths to restoration.

The Bible already gives us examples: Paul wrote letters that traveled miles, Jesus told stories that touch the soul. Today we can record podcasts, upload reels, and send WhatsApp messages. The mission remains the same; only the tools have changed.

At the Church, we use digital media to reach out: our website tells us who we are and what we believe; WhatsApp and email keep us close to those who may have distanced themselves or are just getting to know Jesus; and on YouTube, soon, we will bring worship, praise, and sermons to those who cannot attend in person.

All of this connects with our Every Soul Restored project. Because beyond the content, what moves us is seeing lives transformed. We're not obsessed with likes or algorithms. What we want is for each post to have meaning, to reflect Jesus, and to, in some way, touch someone's heart.

We also ask ourselves: What more could we do? Are there platforms we haven't yet explored? What if young people could help us create something fresh and authentic? Every social media profile can be a powerful tool for spreading the gospel with creativity and love.
